Orange and Brown Ink

I bought some orange and brown ink today so that I can try out some of my fall patterns. I am going to screen the stem, flowers and some leaves in brown, then use a lino block to add orange and red leaves and fill in the flower center.

I also designed this pattern yesterday, but forgot to post it.

Fall

I haven't been designing many new patterns lately, too much on the go! But, it's fall here and the trees are so beautiful. I had to work with some lovely fall/70s colours.

Real Tea Towels

Somehow I was able to carve out enough time to print one bold flower on my vintage tea towels. They look almost exactly like my photoshop mockups.

Vintage Tea Towels

Had a very rewarding trip to my local antique mall yesterday. There were so many great vintage tea towels I didn't have time to look at them all! My 11 month old son didn't think looking at tea towels was as exciting as I did. I did manage to pick up 7 never before used vintage tea towels. They all have different stripes and I've been trying to decide what to do. I was worried my smaller pattern would be too busy, so I took a quick photo and tried it out on my computer first. I was right, too busy. But, the large print will look fantastic. Off to make another screen....

Modern Repeat

My son kept me up most of last night. It wasn't all bad, I did finally come up with a name for my etsy shop in the wee hours of the night. Here is a logo option with a few minor differences. I'll see what I think of it when I wake up tomorrow.

Repeat Patterns

Bold Patterns

I really want to make some large bold prints on tea towels this weekend. Picked up some fabric today, going to serge it tomorrow and hopefully be crafting this weekend!

Yardage Screen Printing

I've been spending most of my free time lately searching online for information on how to print on fabric. I've come across some great blogs and found this wonderful tutorial!

New Pattern

Most of the patterns I am going to be designing for the next while will be basic black and white since I will be printing them.

Etsy

I've decided I want to print more patterns on vintage napkins and start selling them on Etsy. Now I just need to find the time to make that happen. I also have to think of a name....

I am finding some very good articles about setting up my business on Etsy.

Yo Gabba Gabba

I realize the purpose of my blog is to follow my pattern design, but it's hard to find time to design patterns when Yo Gabba Gabba is touring.

Returned yesterday from a mini Alberta vacation. Drumheller, Calgary Zoo then to Canmore to stay with "soap friends". While visiting my soap friends, Julia found a dress up Snow White costume and wore it for exactly 48 hrs...

Gold napkins

I should have saved my gold napkins and printed white and blue to make this pattern.
