Thumbprint Art

Came across this today on a blog called Man Made. For those of us who are graphic designers this is super easy, for those of you who aren't it might be a bit trickier. I will definitely be making one of these for my family when I get back from Ottawa (I leave tomorrow and am no were near being ready).

I sold one of my large DIY family trees today. Very exciting to see the order in my inbox! My family tree (and the faux bois napkins) are boxed up in the faux bois mailing tube and will be heading to Savannah GA tomorrow.

Marimekko Chucks

Yesterday I did something I haven't done in years, bought a pair of pants other than jeans. I bought a pair of skinny black cargo pants. I wasn't sure what shoes I could wear with them. All the celebs were them with 4 inch heels, not super practical when running around after 2 small children. Then, today, through Twitter I found these, Marimekko Chucks. :)

You can do it!

I love this illustration by Helen Dardik which you can buy from her Etsy shop. On her blog she says "I'm trying to get back into shape I've never been in:) I made this print to encourage me... and maybe you too! Of course... I could have spent that time exercising - but making prints is a lot 'funner':)"

Mid-century inspired textile pattern design contest

Ummmm, yah! This looks like a lot of fun. I might have to start working on a few new patterns and enter something. Click here for details.

Mod Melamine Dishes

When I placed my last order of CHILDishes, I ordered 2 dishes with my mod patterns on them. They turned out really well! It's so cool to see my patterns on dishes, lots of fun. I will list these on my Etsy shop once I get some decent photos of them. I will also be ordering more designs just for fun.

I came across this manifesto on Twitter (told you there was a lot of good stuff out there). I will be printing this off and hanging it up next to my computer so I can read it everyday. If you would like your own free printable version, visit Build a Little Biz.

Carlin, the photographer who took photos for the CHILDish website, took some super cute photos of her children with their faceplates.

I haven't been around my blog these last few weeks because I have been sucked into a new and exciting world, Twitter. My oh so very smart friend Lori asked me if I was on Twitter. I told her I had signed up a few years ago to follow Donnie Wahlberg (NKOTB) but hadn't really used it much. She suggested I give it a try again and I am sure happy I did!!

Lori passed on a few blog posts about Twitter, Scoutie Girl Using Twitter Effectively and Havi Brooks Twitter Debunked  I now understand the world of Twitter! I am being introduced to new and exciting people, articles and products. I also get to follow Donnie Wahlberg's every move and that's icing on the cake!
